Tilman Lichdi, tenor
Tenor/Evangelist Tilman Lichdi started singing lessons at the age of 18 in Stuttgart, studied the trumpet in Mannheim, and completed his voice studies in 1999 in Würzburg. Mr. Lichdi has sung in oratorios with conductors Christoph Poppen, Wolfgang Gönnenwein and Jörg Straube, and devotes himself to the evangelist's parts of Bach's passions and oratorios. He recently performed Haydn`s Creation with Perick in Charlotte, NC and Bach`s St Matthew`s Passion with Kent Nagano in Brazil. He has performed with the opera companies of Wurzburg, Heidelberg, Flensburg, Kaiserslauterm, Mannheim and the Munich Biennale, and is a member of the opera ensemble of the State Theatre of Nürnberg. 2009 performance highlights include Monteverdi's 1610 Vespers at the Chatelet Paris and a tour of Italy and Spain with Ton Koopman and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra in Bach’s St. Matthew Passion.
