VIVALDI MEETS BACH
A young J.S. Bach copied, studied, and transcribed the concertos of Antonio Vivaldi, including the two beloved works on this program. Centuries later, Bach repaid the favor when Vivaldi's all but forgotten works were rediscovered in the wake of Bach scholarship, leading to their revival in the twentieth century.
